Now, allow me to gush about my recent book reads. If you follow me on social media or subscribe to my Supermassive Black Holes blog, you’ve already heard me go on and on about Hyperion by Dan Simmons. You can read all my thoughts on it (and why I’d never read it until now) here: SMBH: Hyperion. TL;DR: it’s an incredible book. A seminal book worthy of all the accolades it’s received over the years. It’s literary in a way that science fiction usually is not, but still a thoroughly scifi tale on every page. Since I made that post, I’ve read the remaining 3 books in the Hyperion Cantos series, and I can recommend them as well; they do not rise to the soaring heights of the first book, but they’re excellent scifi novels.

And now I have a set of some of the most beautiful books I’ve ever laid eyes upon: The Broken Binding special edition hardcovers of the Hyperion Cantos. Pictures cannot convey how gorgeous these books are.

My #1 career goal isn't to see my books on the screen in movies or TV series - it's to have a full-out, every flourish Broken Binding edition of the Aurora Rising novels. Or, you know, all of them. ;)
