VENATORIS Short Story Now Available (Free) & More

First, a quick note: The response to ABYSM has been tremendous, exceeding my highest expectations. You continue to reward me for taking risks in order to tell a unique, memorable story, and for that you have my gratitude.

  • VENATORIS, an Aurora Rhapsody short story that appeared this spring in the anthology Beyond the Stars: A Planet Too Far, is now available as a standalone story - and it joins Apogee, Solatium and Restless as FREE on Amazon and NOOK in the U.S. and Google Play everywhere. In other countries it can be picked up for the currency equivalent of $0.99, or you can download it directly for free here. Venatoris is a thrilling, fun (and funny) Alex-and-Kennedy space adventure:

Humanity may have colonized much of the galaxy, but space remains as dangerous as ever, and so do the people inhabiting it.

When Alexis Solovy—space explorer, freelance scout, recalcitrant wanderer—lands the contract of a lifetime, the race is on to claim the prize. Now she must not only outrun but outsmart her rivals to uncover the secrets of an ancient, mysterious pulsar. For deep in the void, far beyond the reach of civilization, wealth and renown matter little absent the ultimate reward: survival.

Set five years before STARSHINE: Aurora Rising Book One (Aurora Rhapsody #1), VENATORIS takes a younger, wilder, rough-around-the-edges Alexis Solovy and Kennedy Rossi on an unforgettable adventure across the stars.

  • If you're a Wattpad user, all my short stories are now available to read, vote on and comment on Wattpad.

  • What's that unfamiliar title with an already full word meter in the sidebar? Re/Genesis is a new short story, to be published in an upcoming anthology around the end of the summer. I'm excited about it, as it bridges Abysm and Relativity, providing an early peek into the world of Amaranthe through the eyes of a new character who will play an important role in Relativity. More details about Re/Genesis to come soon!

  • To celebrate the upcoming release of the ABYSM audiobook next month, I'm giving away 10 copies of an audiobook of the winner's choice.

  • Whether you're just starting out on the audiobooks or ready for Abysm, if you win you can choose the Aurora Rhapsody audiobook you want to receive for free via Audible (including Abysm).

  • The contest ends July 28th; use the widget here on the page or at this link to enter. I've added several new entry options since the previous contest, too.

  • One of the giveaway entry options is to answer a poll, but even if you're not interested in audiobooks, I'd love for you to chime in on the poll as well. You can use the widget here on the page or at this link.

  • The question: What kind of Aurora Rhapsody short story would you like to see in the future?

  • I've included 6 possibilities, but you're free to add your own suggestion as well. The results are, of course, non-binding, but I'm excited to see your thoughts.

  • Note: If you're entering the giveaway, use the giveaway widget to answer the poll so your entry will be recorded.
